In spite of its official release date of October 1, Crissy Calhoun‘s Love You To Death – Season 3: The Unofficial Companion to The Vampire Diaries has been spotted in the wild! If you’re familiar with Crissy’s previous two TVD companion guides, you can expect the same level of insight and readability in this one; if you read Crissy’s Vampire-Diaries.net episode reviews, I can assure you that her guides are not mere rehashes of what you’ve already read. The Vampire Diaries fandom is blessed with many great recappers/reviewers online, but no one approaches TVD as respectfully and thoroughly as Crissy does in Love You To Death, and it’s a real book you can hold in your hands! The Season 3 guide contains her signature breakdowns for every single episode, a detailed timeline and song list index, and interviews with executive producer Julie Plec, directors Joshua Butler and J. Miller Tobin, and legendary photo recapper Price Peterson. And thanks to Crissy for asking me to write the “Where’s Meredith?” sidebar! (I’m still floored we have a Meredith now. Seriously.)

I’m still working through the book as a whole, so I’m sure I’ll have more detailed thoughts later, but wow – Vampire Diaries Season 3 was a one-way trip to Crazy Town, right?
